I like to show a distinct difference between chaos and stupid.. You said you wanted to make an insane chaotic character.. insane is big jump from stupid. Stupid.. is well.. just stupid. I like to think of a chaotic character with a heightened draw to spontaneous acts. if that makes any sense at all
Insane seems to fit well with being chaotic.. perhaps your insanity is the driving force behind your chaotic tendencies?

I might go read it, but I do not like his characters, nor his forum persona. Nothing similar to the Stevers-style roles I have read will ever be "good", as I would define it. Was there anything special about it, or was it just his typical retarded gimmick role?
Now once upon a time (10 years ago) I heroimmed a pico-tatted entropy character that was definitely on the light-hearted/comedic side and that I would consider at least "good". Some people probably would argue he was chaotic stupid, though I disagree, but if I'm wrong then maybe he would qualify as a character that is both high quality and chaotic stupid.

I have my own notions of what might go into a role like that (though not specifically where it would fit in among the current world of CF.)
It could be really helpful to hear stories from both players and Immortals about what a "chaotic awesome" character acted like.

It's been a gazillion years since I ran Entropy with Pico and Ish, but I could point to Zorszaul as a great example of being chaotic without being a retard. I think a lot of times what it comes down to is chaotic stupid = chaotic immature 12-year-old behavior (at least in my mind). If you think running up to people, dropping trou, grabbing your ass cheeks and farting at people is chaotic, then I think you're stupid.
I had a great logged conversation with Pico about chaos and what we should be cultivating in Entropy, but I'm pretty sure I lost it in a hard drive crash 10 years ago.
I can't really speak for the later years of Entropy, when Grum and Mayesha took over. I think it was probably a little more lenient than my day, but then Ishmael was pretty lenient too.

I'm going to ignore your shameless self promotion and say this:
If you read a Stevers role and deem it a "typical retarded gimmick role," then you are a short sighted fool. The man has an absolute genius mind for gibberish and nonsense. It's sort of like Rainman in reverse. Instead of a retard that can do amazing things in certain areas, it's a non-retarded person that can paint the picture of retardation with beautiful literary brush strokes.
AKA: The very definition of chaotic stupid.

I just went and started to read Juudnself's role. It is far from beautiful literary brushstrokes. It's inane drivel. If you like it, fine. I don't care enough to argue the point any further and it would just be feeding the troll anyhow.
You're right though, the role is chaotic stupid to a fault. But it is far from good.

Stevers is an excellent writer and it shows in that role. A book written by Stevers in this style could be excellent read. However, the postmodern style can make it difficult to understand and not the most suitable for the use as a CF role. Ultimately CF, and role contests, aren't writing contests, they are about rewarding the best role. The role should function for the purpose of the reader understanding the character better. Juudsnelf's role manages to be an excellent piece of literature and a not so functional as a role at the same time. There are good reasons not to reward it in a contest, as the contest is supposed to measure good role, not a great piece of literature.

I promise I'm not trolling. I read roles all the time in PBFs. It's one of my favorite parts of CF. No other role evokes emotions like Stevers.
Rare Role: Wow, this is good and could work in a real piece of sci-fi fantasy. Enjoyable to read, but like most sci-fi fantasy lacks any real emotional draw. Original, but not moving.
Typical role: Ok, so this guy wants to be like X character from X game/book.
Stevers Role: Let me go pee before I read this, because it's the only role writer that can make me laugh my ass off every time.
I don't know about you, but laughter is my favorite thing to experience. He provides it, consistently, every time and I'll gladly support him in the hopes of getting more.
Keep in mind this is solely on the subject of roles. Interacting with him in game is one of the most painful experiences I've ever had. He is slow to react, slow to speak, and appears to be an anomaly that actually gets worse at the game as he plays. My guess is he types at about 2 words per minute.

You certainly can, but you absolve yourself of any right to complain about the consequences of such a role. This might include no mortal wanting to interact with you, no immortal wanting to interact with you, and possibly ROTD'd for being a nuisance character.

They...are just horrible. I refuse to interact with this person. It just seems like they aren't really RPing. Even if they are I don't get why they are acting half retarded. Oh and if anyone thinks this is you...it likely isn't. I think I get why people don't like the idea of it. I've got a single #### to give...and it's just for you.
