#47060, "What our staff wants a list"

So this is the list of things our staff would like to see of us the players. It is a summary and a point or two might have been missed so feel free to edit. These are very helpful hints on how to make a successful character and how to make CF a better place for player and Immortal.
1. Show consistency in your role and your characters play.
2. Take some risks (Or have some balls)
3. Play the game because you love it, not because of the rewards. Rewards are given due to the above and once you play because of them perhaps you should reconsider why you play this mud.
4. Don’t be a ####
5. Think before you speak
a. Is it true?
b. Is it helpful?
c. Is it inspiring?
d. Is it necessary?
e. Is it kind?
6. A place where the immortals wanted to get engaged with the players and roleplay.
a. A place where ideas are tossed out, refined and ultimately implemented.
b. Cosider the following “CF (And the internet and our culture in general) is an anonymous attack on anything that isn’t exactly how we want it. We’ve turned into a society of griefers where there is little, if any, constructive criticism, just pure venom.
c. Players try to post less “troll” on the forums or misinformation. Try to avoid personalizing just because you know who a player is.
d. Players consider the following, “How much time does our immortal staff/moderators spend on editing the content on the webpage because of our trolls”. Then consider how much time is taken away from adding to the game. Our staff only has x amount of time and the less time they need to spend on moderation the more time they can spend on giving you the stuff you scream a whole lot about and actually join you in gameplay!
7. Google search your name before you roll. And don’t give the staff a hard time because you didn’t do it.
8. More players should be willing to “bring it” in terms of RP in all situations not just when you are in front of an Imm. The immortals that have players in their spheres often watch you while hidden. (RP with players not all mobs)
a. Its not expected that you interact/RP with all mobs, but is it impressive, yes.
b. Remember at one point it is a futile effort RP’ing with a MOB. Focus on RP with each other!
c. Think about the following : “Is it a sentinent mob? Is it your own race? Is it connected to your cabal in some way? Does your role have an impact? What would your Immortal patron think if you killed this mob?”
9. Use sentences that start with capitalized letters, so do names and the word “I”.
10. Be excellent to each other.
11. In RP, strive to do more than the bare minimum. Smile at times! Give some flare to your character!
12. In PK, complain less. There are ways of beating your opponent, they just might not seem obvious and perhaps not possible to complete alone.
13. Update your role, have a short chapter about the interactions you have had with your patron or some significant event. This helps the immortal at hand and yourself! The immortal knows where you want to go and can aid you getting there or help you get on track!
14. Don’t delete or auto right after empowerment you make bears sad.
15. Correct spelling (Thanks DurNominator)
16. Its fine with a one night stand, just leave me a message on the pillow so I don’t think your kidnapped.

Hopefully this will help our community to be better players and help us know what our staff wants from us. It is a nice two way street that makes this place a better place.
Regards Lars

N/T

Always shoot first and then call whatever you hit the target.
