#4650, "Guild Wars"
|
With the new changes to the thief’s guilds by only being able to join one guild does this open more opportunities to new guild advancements/titles and guild politics? I always found it funny how there are more guilds in Thera than cabals and the cabals have more politics than guilds. Has there ever been a thought to make more of a shift to recognize guild leaders of different towns, like the Kingpin of Galadon and Bandit King of Hamsah? Perhaps this will limit people from guiding sitting in Galadon all the time. People would want to move around to get more power/live in different cities. Each class can make donations to their own guild and give gold more value. On the topic of donations…with the thief’s guild, do all of the thief’s guilds have elite status/head thief? Are these thieves picked for their RP ability or is it hard coded in? I am eager to see what is to come of guild wars. Perhaps it this could give an alternative for those who are so eager to join a cabal.

would be to few thiefs. You could make an entire MUD around the idea. As it is there a to few playes to even support more cabals if you want to be able to use cabal chanal.

Just like hometowns. Otherwise everyone will just join Galadon except for the random two or three people. Either that or make it where the Kingpin allows you entrance.

and make guild membership limited based on which path you take the furthest. So if you're primarily pickpocket you can only join the Galadon guild. And so on.
Calheil is a binder and he's the bandit-king of Hamsah. Hopefully this is a trend that continues in the other guilds, where at least the head is somebody that has devoted themself to the respective path.

The reason being is full path trapper just isn't fun. This whole concept screws the people who like to mix paths. Even though they are a better thief they don't get a shot at kingpin because they mixed paths.

and with my idea they could still become a "kingpin," just not a Galadon kingpin (they'd be the blackclaw head). I personally think the thief system is screwed if mixing paths makes you a better thief, because, theoretically, mixing paths bars you from the higher skills of the paths. Unfortunately, as it stands, very few paths have skills at the end that are worth going for.
