#46163, "Idea: Ranking Lifelines"
|
I got to thinking, there are a number of classes I would like to play but what always holds me up is the fact that I know there will be certain ranks where I could potentially get stuck. AP's and necromancers really come to mind for this.
What could be nifty would be if a character had 3 ranking lifelines. by lifeline I mean they could use a command and until the next time they rank they get double XP. This would give players a tool to overcome rough patches either caused by unfavorable conditions (lots of enemies, poor ranking partner choices) or to help overcome XP loss rapidly.
The nice thing about this is that it wouldn't require any imm policing, you could add edges/flaws to add/remove the lifelines, extra lifelines could be used in place of edge points for minor rewards (tired of people complaining they got 500 xp for a role instead of 2k, make it one lifeline across the board).

Brosky, are you there? Yes comrade, I am calling you from the CF. Yes, yes, nyet, yes. Is true.
Listen, I only have short time before Immortal catches me, can you have your Fortress cast the sanctuary on my Anti-Paladin and make up feeble excuse that this is... how you say.. a blessing to show me how bright the light is.
Nyet, do not worry about the Americans. They are soft and they believe that we play fair. If they accuse us of anything on the board we will just wait for that Pro to say something and they will forget us, because they are hatings for him to be right.
Okay, yes make it the snappy, I have to change the vodka in Pushka's bottle. He is seems to be waking up soon.
Das vadanya Comrade.
I actually do like your idea. Though.
