#45951, "Questoins about locks and arcane lore"
|
First off, if a lock is beyond my comprehension even when I have studied advanced lock picking, will it always be or is that going to be level-dependent? If I study locksmithing, can I make keys for those locks that are "beyond my comprehension" or are they always going to be off limits?
I'm wondering if there is a benefit to accessing places/items by studying locksmithing. I've heard some mention that it's not very useful...is it worthwhile? Seems like it would be, but not if the same locks are still beyond my comprehension.
Secondly, can someone explain arcane lore--what does it do and is it worthwhile? Are thieves otherwise not very good at using scrolls? Does it just make you fail less or what?

If you have advanced lockpicking practiced and still get the 'beyond your comprehension' message on a lock, it means it's a lock that no one can pick. (This is a different message than simply failing.)
