This is not meant to come off as a flame or a rant, but a simple curiosity.

After you made the big ole post regarding parity, siege/skirmish and all that good stuff, do you think that it has played out the way that you wanted it to? Do you feel like there are more instances of "questionable" behavior now, or is it leading to a much cleaner BATTLE as a whole?

My opinion is that it's very subjective, and it's often difficult to see the entire context from my vantage. I still don't think folks should hamstring themselves in raid/retrieval, but the boundary of that is very grey. I typically try to give folks the benefit of the doubt, but it sure feels like my style is being taken advantage of lately. As I've said elsewhere today, that's pretty easy to fix.

I agree with Fjarn here. Inherently, people will attempt to circumvent the system (they did it with little black roots!). I'm constantly seeing that in IT with regards to web filtering in Enterprise orgs. How effectively you police those individuals and cabals will determine how "clean" Battle is.

Ideally, we'd love to see the cabal police itself. However, when instances DO happen which blatantly circumvent the system, we reserve (and often use) the right to reduce skills/chastise/boot.

To answer your question - no, it's not really any better than it was. Those that hold themselves to a higher standard manage to shine and we typically try to reward for that.
