#42880, "Can you remove the denial of access from mudconnector?"

everyone knows how to proxy to cf these days anyways. Its detrimental to deny it. There is no good reason.

Just thought(know) its a good idea.

I can't play unless you remove the ban on mudconnector. If you don't remove the ban on it, that is fine. Just was letting you know whats up with my playability.

I play from a public place. The guy who works on the computers does not own them. The people that are clients here, are legally part owners of the computers and internet. Its paid through the sale at the pop machines. The staff told him remove the block on the java window applet but he said it allows back doors. The guy called the cops on me yesterday, saying I assaulted him.

Anyways, he no longer runs the lab but the computers are locked out, the old admin, dustin won't be back for a few weeks. So my only option is mudconnector.

This game is my release. I am in a wheelchair and receive ssi so I can only afford so much. No computer. I ride the bus here every day and would enjoy to be playing with you guys. =(

Thanks for reading this, if you can't help me. See you guys in a week. Can't let you know who I can't play now however heheheh

Couldn't you just put YTIN on a USB thumb drive and play that way?

Please explain. What is a thumb drive?

Old school as in I only play carrionfields, browse youtube. Or search google to get answers. Otherwise I read books or write stories.

I use telnet or wintin when able.

The only games in the last 10 years I've played are carrionfields, and utopia and earth 2012.

This is a lot of effort to find the thumbdrive. Are they expensive or should I ask a friend who has a computer to borrow one?
If I download a client, it asks for permission. Not sure if an external data device will work.

Once again, thanks for everyones help. If I cannot play, its not a problem. Just an incon vein yass sp? woot.

In response to Reply #6

Jump drive. Thumb drive. Etc.

You could stick a mud client on there self contained. From the computer you want to play from, just insert the flash drive, browse to the drive (usually a D: or E: drive), open the .exe and play like that.

I do that with zmud from random locations as needed.

Or you could even burn a cd or dvd with those files and insert it if the have an optical disc reader.

Just copy the MUD client folder on the flash drive and play from it. I've used my MUSHclient from an old location without reinstalling after reinstalling Windows, so I know it can be used without installing it to the computer as long as you have the folder and the client files with it.

It's been a while since I used straight up telnet, but I seem to remember that my XP machine (two computers ago) had it.

I know that Windows 7 does not include it in the base package, but if the computer is old enough you might just be able to get on that way.

There is no admin, no downloads or pass words to these boxes
for another two weeks. The only way I can play is from mudconnector.
I did not even give the correct name of the place I play from for privacy reasons. I can verify this to the imms in an email if needed.
