It's been posted elsewhere that spheres don't matter unless you're an empowerment class. In that case, the spheres would be Truth and Purity.
Scarab is evil. Period.
Saraba is neutral, maybe leaning evil, and would probably be easier to justify following on a wider range of characters, especially wilderness and barbarian types.
That's my best guess.
