#40170, "Ranger questions/ideas and one warrior legacy question."

Do Animists have an improved call lightning? If so may we know in what sense?

Do Mariners get any improvements on call lightning?

Is the skill pursuit for plainsrunners dexterity, strength or percentage based?

The plainsrunning skill is so extremely niche that I rarely use it for anything other than to dash up the plains to and from Darsylon. Could it be improved ins some fashion? I have some ideas.

1) Make it like dash in that a command can be entered with it and that command takes affect if during the dash you come upon the target whether or not the plainsrunning is finished. The plainsrunning would end at the target and not carry past.

2) Make it an attack all it's own. So when you plainsrub past your target an attack (Hamstring type?) triggers but you continue on to the full extent of the run.

3) You can Plainsrun further and further as you get better in the skill.

4) You can use the skill on roads that are outside of cities and not in what one would describe as mountainous, muddy or icy terrain.

On the skill tame. I think it was over nerfed. (A plant is too intelligent for a forester to tame? Duh whaaa???) Buuuut that being said, Maybe make the half-elven races get a bonus to it for often being outcasts and finding solace in an animal companion.

Maybe also give half-elves bonuses with any animal based skills and spells. (For druids too?)

Allow Gnomes to be foresters instead of mariners. I can't find a single instance in game where gnomes are associated with the oceans or water in any way. Not one single gnomish mob is in or on water that I know of but we have the Dranetti which are described as gnomes (Even having the word gnome in it.)

Allow Caverndweller Explorers to Ambush Dive in Forests, Jungles, Mountains. Basically areas where it's easy to conceptualize them getting above their target.

Allow Elves to be marshdwellers. We have the Blackwater swamp near the vale with elven rangers in it, and near Baer's shrine is a marsh. Remove the option of Bedouin.

The elven captain and others in the Settlment in the past are described as having bows but do not. Can they get them? Same for some Galadonia guards too I think.

And has it ever been stipulated if the fast healing legacy is based on Wisdom? I ask because it is described with the word "Willpower" which I ascribe to wisdom in the gaming world.

Thank you much.

Disclaimer: I looked at the call lightning spell and am not trying to consider anything outside its limited scope, such as who can get which edges.

>Do Animists have an improved call lightning? If so may we
>know in what sense?

No.

>Do Mariners get any improvements on call lightning?

No.

>Is the skill pursuit for plainsrunners dexterity, strength or
>percentage based?

Skill is the only one of these elements which is relevant.

>The plainsrunning skill is so extremely niche that I rarely
>use it for anything other than to dash up the plains to and

My to-do list when scaled against how fast I'm coding things is well over a year long, so not from me.

What it can and can't work on is to large degree up to the area author.

Eh.

Not wild about this.

Not wild about this.

I'm not going to write them.

It's not.
