#39889, "PWK and PWD questions"
|
Is it possible to PWK a character whose level is highter than yours? Of you are a 40 level necro, and trying to PWK 44, will you have a achance?
PWD - what ecxactly it does? I can't figure out from the helpfiles and/or spell echo. When should I use it? Frankly, I'm playing about 10 years, but I have no idea if it's worth using at all, and if it's worth using - when shall I use it.

Yes, you have a chance, against a pc.
Having said that, the spell really shines against mobs that are a fair few levels below you (because then it never fails). Makes regearing a lot easier. PWK 2 men at arms in Udgaard etc.

PWD drops stats on the hour, with a VERY long duration.
Stats, iirc, are con, dex, str. It's not curable by most ways.
I personally found it useful if I was struggling to retrieve without being driven off. I'd land it, come back 40 hours later, and the guy wouldn't be able to wield his weapons, for example.

otherwise the effect is probably not worth the combat lag.

So PWD has a pretty long duration and every tick it applys a random malediction (-1 str/dex/con/int/wis/dam/hp). I believe it was posted by an imm at some point that if a player reached 3 con because of this spell you die just like with rot.

If it works like that, it's great spell. For how long it will lasts on the target? 24 hours?

Could even be up to 120? I don't remember that well, but it is a nice spell.
Oh, the other good thing I forgot to mention in my post above is that after you've let it sap someone's con for a while, they are easy to plague/scourge even if they aren't dying from the con loss.

Adagio I believe removes the effects of despair/despondence. Just a nice little seldom used perk of a low level song that really does not get used all that much. Think it removes one or two other similar type effects.
Sort of like travellers march removing hobble effects.

But decay is not a morale related thing. Adagio won't cure power word decay, I'm fairly certain.

I thought PWD was power word despondence. Forgot about decay. Too many power words!
