I enjoy the game but...I feel i might quit playing. I started ADHD meds and well I dont know it seems all im doing on cf is whining and being a douche to everyone. Im in a huge slump i dont know what to do. any ideas?

Edit: I know there is most likely a better place to post this...but i cant figure out how to delete it.

I've got a single #### to give...and it's just for you.

Two thoughts:

1. Stop whining.

2. Stop being a douche.

You can't always control how successful you are at PK or how much your RP gets noticed, but you can control how you personally behave and how you treat other people.

has helped me in CF.

I used to get absolutely irate when people would call with #### hands and catch their card and win.

Now when I flop a set or something and someone calls with an r-tard runner runner flush draw or straight. I just sit there, say "nice hand", and carry on. If you take a bad beating like a rock, you gain a lot of respect, and might be a little more feared the next time.

Obviously, it's easy to slip up when you're really emotional, and that's normal, but it's probably best to keep them to a minimum when at all possible.

Avoid getting into debates on qhcf. It's full of people that can't be civil (including me at times).

Play an orc. As an orc, dying & regearing is so easy that you really don't care much. It's just fun to play a stupid orc.

A basic regear from the shops in the orc village will have you good to jump right back into things.

I know the feeling. Having a good character that dies off, it can be difficult to get right back on the horse as a level 1 in the academy. I didn't play for a few months after the pwipe cause I did not want to go through starting a new character. Eventually I created Lasentia to play casually, went herald, and generally had a blast. Of course, when she died it was much the same of not wanting to do another character from scratch again, and I think it was a while before I rolled another, and I probably had a few deletions then too. Eventually something clicks though.

So here are some tips on how to make CF that fun enjoyable realm you had with Derialx and Gahsa.

First, do what everyone says and take forums for what they are.

Second, take a little while away from CF. Trying to force yourself into a char or role never works. If you have a concept, take a day or two, think about a few char qualities, maybe role ideas, and then give him a shot. A better thought out char tends to have more longevity. Forget abgout your past char for the most part.

Get into cabals early. I generally think outside of scion this is pretty easy, and cabal's create a nice playing atmosphere for people.

Focus on RP in the early ranks. Ranking is fine, so is PK, but getting some RP going young makes people know you and want to interact with you in the future. I have seen lots of people that speak to me as rank 4 and 5s when I am a hero and we tend to interact all the time. Heroes I've never met before usually interact based on help requests or information requests, which is not as fun. The key is, don't bug as hero to kill the midnight. I mean real RP. Have a talk. Not everyone will be into this, but some will, and those are the ones you have interactions with over a char life.

It's all about your role. It really is the basis of people playing characters. A character with no direction goes to the graveyard pretty damn quick. Think of an open ended role that allows you a lot of flexibility, so as to not trap yourself in the future, and you should finds things much better for you. Then play the char out, see where the game takes you and try to steer him along the general path you design but at the same time, don't be so inflexible in your RP that it actually limits your ability to RP.

Never ever go sphere douche. I find it best to almost always try and speak politely. Yes, I talk smack to people sometimes, and if people talk smack to me I will generally banter with them and have alittle back and forth (in what I hope comes across as IC driven since my RP is not always perfect). I get annoyed and have some bad moments, but generally I try to be at least cordial, even to the person that just fulled me. Even hard core douche players have trouble when they are faced with this. Cause they thrive on people getting pissed or annoyed with them and getting under your skin. When you're a douche in game, most people will treat you as such. When you're not, I find very few people are douchey to you.

Lastly, learn to discern IC and OC. Don't be a douche because some guy is acting in an acceptable IC RP fashion towards you that you don't like. This can be hard, but until it becomes obvious OC, try to not let it get to you that a player is playing their role in which you end up getting shafted now and again. I never blamed Satebos or Ahtiehli for whipping my pally's ass regularly. There was jack I could do against them, but still, it was always fun. Cf is not about PK wins and losses. Just about having a little fun, which you control for yourself to a very large extent, by how you play and behave in game.

Its a bitch fest. Sure, theres a few bad apples in our playerbase. But for every bad apple, theres a dozen well rped, fun to interact with players out there dying to make you have a good experience. Also, a handful of imms extremely dedicated to the game, and your good time experience.

Give it a shot, trust me, QHCF is a HORRIBLE way to gauge whats going on in cf. Everyone is a ####head over there, including myself
