Does the type of weapon impact the damage? All things equal, will a dagger ambush the same as a whip as a staff as an axe as a sword? I know weapon % is tied some to it and out of all my rangers I've never bothered getting the less used weapons to 100% but it feels like there is a difference.

Just something that I've always wondered.

Thanks.

Generally, no; however, some of the special ambush types work better for different weapons.

Never thought about that part of it.

that they used common-sense logic when determining what weapons affected what types of ambushes.

Pretty sure no. Things I would imagine matter: weapon avg/range, weapon attack type (i.e. if you're hitting a vuln or resist), weapon skill %, weapon damroll.

I have a hypothetical. If I have two weapons, both ave 20, one with a damroll of 3, one with a damroll of 0. Does one hit harder than the other, if my overall damroll is the same?

I know those numbers don't add, assume I have a bracer or something that makes up the difference.

Should be exactly the same. Damroll is damroll. I'm assuming the weapons are identical except for the damroll modifier.
