#37182, "Edge points for PK deaths"
|
Has anyone given thought to adding edge points for PK deaths? Not as many for winning and maybe a different kind? I think it would encourage more fights to the death, like a consolation prize. I haven't really thought much about the details.

I remember we talked about this during the original edge design and decided against it, but I no longer remember what the details of the discussion were.

Most of the folks who DON'T die a lot are likely vets or otherwise skilled players who are probably going to a lot of edge points to begin with AND probably care more about protecting their eq than a few bonus edge points.
This might reward people who play "balls to the wall" all day long, but I don't think it would encourage people who prefer to play conservatively not to, since the reward isn't worth what they're protecting by being conservative.

I think perhaps a edge that would boost up the anti-gang code maybe 2.5 - 5%....
but only if one always seems to be killed by a large group of people and after only a certain amount of deaths...
maybe Zulg can put a post it note on this one and save it for a rainy day if everyone agrees.
