Ok so I didnt go away, just switched to something that needs no immvolvement for inducts and I can log in and have fun right away.

Just two questions: Favorite subclass and why? (Mundungus, Shig-Ru, Mamlauk, Skrugga.)

And is the demon in the woodpile edge overly hampering to be more of a nuissance than a help.

Demon in the Woodpile. Sometimes you thank the gods for it and other times you wonder why you wasted edge points on something that just killed you. It'll save your ass several times. It'll kill you several times.

It had better earn you more kills than deaths, or else its not worth the opportunity cost of spending those edge points.

It sure as hell saves your ass while letting you beat ass.

You'll learn what you can and can't do with it early on.

It really depends on the chars in your PK range. I don't advise taking this if you plan to fight a lot of conjurers and paladins.

I advise taking it if you plan to fight a lot of shamans and bards.

For me, it killed me so many more times than it saved my ass. Against bard sleep it only kicked in maybe 1 every 3 times. And running away from paladins is a pain. You autoattack them, so when they summon you, you automatically attack them.

Half the fun was figuring out the best way to fight as a Mamlauk but here's your spoon for this sub-class.

Whomp - Great utility move that creates two feints when it hits, perfected doesn't miss that much and does from mangle-oblit if you hit on vulns (iron/wrath/wood on druid). 3 rounds lag if misses, but aren't all Orc skils supposed to screw you when you miss, yes!

StoneHands - You drop heavy weapons less often, you can wield heavier weapons as well. Obviously very cool.

Swat - Disarm attack that does damange and knocks weapons out of the room. You can start with this and is amazing utility move as people can't pick up their weapons if they knocked away good raiding move. Hits more often than disarm or grappleweapon (which injures you).

Brute Force - More damage and attacks in your primary weapon hand if it is a weapon that you can whomp with, does not affect your dual wield weapon.

Hack - All hacks are good besides head... which I never found useful. Leg gives them movement lag and -dex, good for sealing kills. Arm does Kote/Boneshatter. Torso keeps you from resting/sleeping.

Mamaluks are suited to fight certain opponents better than others, some foes are meat for a Malmie and some are going to tear you a new one just figure out which and be ready for it. Orcs are a lot of crap I died time to re-gear and get new preps but with bully it makes it a lot easier. With Smear you can gear much more like Kubilak now and not get owned without the saves. Good luck.

Bully ups your damage on mobs that consider significantly lower than you. So if you want to pick on Gralan for them pale skull rings, you barely have to swat him to get 'em

Edit: Also, I don't think anyone will be able to match his win/loss ratio.
1. He was pretty conservative.
2. I believe he knew the sip bug
3. This was pre-pill change, and he popped speckled pills like an addict

Brute force making you hit more per round.

Whomp feinting yourself if you miss.

And I don't know about stone-hands making you drop things less often. I only noticed the higher wield weight and a bonus to damage.

Stone hands makes you not drop things sometimes when you get your strength dropped, but it seems to do a check every few seconds, so I found it more annoying than helpful, as I would think I still had enough strength to wield my weapon while maledicted, bash, and then have it drop the next round.

At least that's what I recall it doing.
