Is there any reason that the sea of despair is split into three different areas while you are in the water portion of it?

It's not. The sea of despair is the sea of despair, on it or in it at any depth. Can see people with "where" no matter which level they are in.
There are areas next to it and entrances to other areas in it, like the ruin of the deep, but all the sea of despair is one area.

Part of the sea of despair is connected to ysigrath, a different part of it is connected to ashes of nowhere, another part is connected to that trail. Or at least that was the impression I always get while in it. Could an imm please shed some light on this?
