#34948, "Request for a very simple, but useful thing."
|
It is *very* difficult to understand, if you are wearing a right armor or not. For example, I have skill "light armor use".
But I have *no* idea, nor clear way to figure out if I am dressed right. Only guesses... I am pretty sure a lot of players would appreciate a simple echo, showing them that they are using right piece of armor.
As I think, it's not a difficult thing to add but it may have a very good effect.

Metal armors are heavy armors. Leather armor is light armors.
Magical armor (even cloth, I think) is mystical.
Dragon hides and things made of dragonhides are Dragonarmor use (It's an imm-given skill)
If you examine the armors you'll see if they're metal, cloth, leather etc... If you lore/identify them you'll see if they have AC as well. Leahter and metal has AC, cloth doesn't.
Right? Always shoot first and then call whatever you hit the target.

Not quite right, and it especially matters for the warpriest specialization.
I have a skill and I want to know if it works or not, because difference between armors is absolutely unclear. Even Valg says that some armor will work and some will not. For example, he himself is uncertain about bone armor at all.
In short, i do not want to guess, if it will work or not. There are too many things that is unclear at the moment - it's not newbie-friendly, and many of them aren't even vets-friendly. And few are even not imms-friendly, it seems

Bone armor use isn't light or heavy armor use - It has it's own "bone armor use" as Mystical armor has its own.
It's obvious, so I'm not sure what is confusing to you: If you have the light armor skill, and wear a piece of light armor, your chance to deflect strikes with that piece of armor is increased. As a Shaman your bonuses(the ones listed) are gained when you wear light armor.
What's the issue?

Armor use skills are purely based on materials.
If you want to know more about how shamans work, read my announcement post about them. Their armor situation is less clear cut and if I tried to simplify it for you it via a command it probably would end up misleading you.
