#31804, "Curious about the revamp to the Arkham Crypts:"
|
I have broken my habitual goody playing tendency and have been playing an evil character. I have noticed that there is a distinct lack of player activity at that location as I lurk by there to try my extremely feeble PK skills.
Has the change driven off goody rankers? If so maybe resetting it back to how it was then instead of giving the mobs serious warrior skills give them more HP and increase their dirt kicking, trip, bash, disarm frequencies. Or keep them as skilled warriors but give them flails and staffs as weapons. That would be nearly as deadly but not so deadly as to be avoided.
I personally would not try to level there without a paladin or a healer in my group. Preferably both.
Cheers, Unka.

Pretty sure the ranking comes off of the zombies. I've had some lowbies rank through there, and everyone is always like, let's try skeletons, then OK, let's go somewhere else.
The skeletons mess you up. I had a defensive shifter and couldn't handle them as perfect matches.
I think generally the easy-to-get-to ranking areas should be easier, because the risk is in getting PK'd/harassed more often. Remote areas, add some boneshattering zest there.

All of my experiences have been similar. I've never been in a group that bothered to try more than one skeleton. They just aren't worth enough exp for the hassle. Run thru the zombie floors, rinse and repeat until it's time to go elsewhere.

I stopped going there altogether.
Come to think of it, I stopped going to the kobold warrens too when the changes came in.

I'd wager that most of the traffic that area gets comes from people who herd-murder the zombies and then move along when they lose their appeal.
There might have been one time since the revamp that I've had a good enough group at that level to efficiently rank on skeletons without getting my face utterly, savagely pwnt.
That isn't necessarily an argument for why it's a bad area or a bad change, though. Zombies are excellent rankage, and there are a couple of other things there that definitely make the area very appealing at all levels, so yay.

It's all of the zombies, makes it super boring. At least tone them down a little? I have to say anytime my group there that has been demolishing zombies tries a skeleton it goes badly and we go back to zombies. That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.
