I didn't want to hijack Manno's thread.

So what else effects boneshatter besides skill? This is always one of those that has bothered me. Seeing as my arial mace specs seemed like they were better at it, in a fair number of situations. (At least to me I haven't played a giant mace spec in a little while)

So far, we've established that its mostly skill based. What else factors in? Your strength vs theirs? Anything like that?

I've always thought a dexterity comparison always help judge if it hit or not. This is because once you land one boneshatter, its often easy to land the rest when you're practicing. Same with impale, and hamstring practice. Always easier to land them if the opponent has less dex than you.

And as odd as it might sound

I think that is actually AC you are seeing there.

Though an imm would have to chime in on the correctness.

As in, a line or two that lays out what factors into the sucess of a skill in general terms. Right now, there's a wierd mix of speculation and good information spread around with no way to clear things up for any player that doesn't carefully read these forums. Of course, that's only for something that's been asked about and answered here. Anyway, it's probably a really tedious thing for any imm to do, I understand, and it's nothing urgent, but maybe a little project someone would be interested in, if it makes sense for the game?

If you play a mace spec and use boneshatter it will be apparent how succesful it is, just by using it while ranking. the success rates are pretty much the same as in pk.

There should be some mystery to everything in CF.

I just learned something with a character that I haven't seen posted anywhere. It isn't a big deal at all, but boy does it make me feel special.

I wouldn't feel so damn special if it said that in a helpfile.

Also, we're talking one skill right now. What if we want a bit more analysis behind every skill/supp/comm in the game.
