Warriors that flurry have big down sides. Is there any downside to this skill that has potential for huge lethality? Warrior flurries are 4 rounds of lag and drain moves. Is there anything similar for this?

1) Lashes requires/drains move.
2) Lashes hits are weaker than normal hits. (Compare with flurry/drum which are normal, excepting a 5th hit of drum which is more.)
3) A flurrying sword warrior is among the best tanks in the game. An A-P with a whip is a terrible tank, which bloodlust and A/B/S may improve to merely bad. There are many more situations in which, for example, an A-P with a whip is going to be dead if they start getting bashed.

The cost of lashes on moves is really minimal, way less than flurry. I could be wrong but maybe a full 5 hit lashes took 60 or 80 moves? In 300 hours it was never a factor.
Anyways, the best way to deal with a lashes AP is to cut his dex. Hamstring just absolutely crushes it and even -1 or -2 points of dex makes a massive difference. And yes, bashing is so incredibly dangerous for a drow whip AP. That extra size that giants have is the best thing that makes fire AP so appealing.
I feel like it's pretty balanced. Just be glad you weren't around when a lightning control lashes AP was permalag.

That an ap with bloodlust up has poor movement regen, so is likely to be starting many fights with fewer moves than an equivalent warrior.
