There's a lot of anger and confusion about this recently so I'm going to clarify.

When a character's newbie channel privs are revoked, an announcement is automatically made over the newbie channel about it. This is something Zulg added months ago, presumably because it used to be the case that when we banned someone, another half-dozen people would keep trying to respond to them.

How about a 'in space no one can hear you scream' flag. Once placed there is no echo or hint but it means that no one else can hear you. They just get ignored without some satisfaction of thinking they've pulled someones chain.

Daevryn just explained why they don't do this already.

In any case, your suggestion isn't very informative to any of the users on the channel, as to which behaviors are acceptable and which aren't.

Huh? You can still announce that the person has been banned from the channel, JUST NOT TO THE ANNOYING TROLL.
