Yeah, you have a bit as a ghost to wander around and talk to people. You wont be in pk range, and you'll be wearing nothing but some shackles that you can't remove, if memory serves. And you can't carry anything.
I only age died once, and it was years ago.

Hm.
I think you'll just suddenly get an echo about your heart giving out or something, then you'll be standing over your own corpse? It may have changed too, this was years ago. Has anyone even age died recently? It's not a real common occurrence I don't think. It takes a long time.

Thendrell age died, on the same day Kasir did I believe around the same log in time. I'm not sure if most age deaths occur right at a log in (so they can purge the eq before hand and not have you giving it away as a ghost) but it feels like they might, outside of those instances where aging items are used.
For me I logged in, on the tick my body gave out and was standing over my remains. All your eq is gone, and is gone from your corpse (unlike a con loss) You will still have coins though, and can withdraw from your bank if you want. You then get some time to say goodbyes, think for me it was around 30 minutes. You do not show up on the who list either if memory serves. You'll get a couple of warning echoes when your time is running low and then you'll ascend /descend and be logged off. That's about it.
You won't get much warning about when it is coming though, but you can look at premiums and such for age deaths of similiar race/classes to try and get a feel for the general range. With mine my Imm pretty much told me I only had a few hours of game tiome left, so I think the number is set, maybe at creation.

That doesn't sound right. When you age die you turn into a ghost and have an hour to say some goodbyes. When you condie you die and that's it, you're disconnected from the mud with a quick echo. Isn't that how it goes?

I age died Fungor when I accidentally wore the ring of Zurcon he had as a reminder of mortality. I ran to the healer to uncurse before the tick but didn't have enough money, ran to the bank and noticed in the bank that I had actually age died in the East Dairein Road and missed the echo while running. I sent a thanks for everything-kind of goodbye pray and Eshval came to keep Fungor company for the last moments. You get about an hour to say goodbyes to everyone before your form dissolves, so it's a bit longer time than in con death.
