#31032, "Are undead still considered "immortal?""

Now that undead basically just get an extension on their life, are they still considered "immortal" IC? That is, would it be accurate to say they want to take the elixer for "immortality?"

Would an undead be able to RP for another extension...like maybe he senses the elixer is starting to lose its power and needs to take another?

When a lich age dies (assuming we EVER see that), you could just play it as though he/she/it has ascended to the state of a demi-lich, like a certain malevolent npc in a certain tower.

I think that's actually the way we have the echoes etc. set up around it. Not that the lich/mummy dies exactly, but moves on to another state in which they're dissociated from mortal affairs.

It doesn't work like that.

Given the toll the elixir takes on the body to begin with (it already kills you and then you become either undead or not) another elixir seems like it would have no effect regardless of whether it was concocted correctly or not. It's not a 'charge' of negative energy, it's more like a Kevorkian barbituate concoction that potentially leaves you as a lich.
