Do some edges require X exp from imm rewarded exp?

For example, I want a certain offensive form, but if I don't get it I want to roll the bones. however, I havent gotten any imm exp because i havent written a role. Do I need imm exp in order to gain access to roll the bones?

And does this go for some other high tier edges?
