#30889, "Conjurers and familiars."

Is there a better reason besides 'randomness and exploration' why conjurer familiars don't have a 'fam skills' command like shapeshifter forms have to list their qualities?

They did. Sort of.

At least active skills were listed.

The helpfile for familiars doesn't hint at passive benefits (such as dam redux, mana regen, max mana boost, etc.) but we all know they exist.

I'm asking for the form's overall traits to be outlined like a shifter's form is, not just the active skills.

It's not going to increase or decrease the number of players powering to 17 and then deleting when they get a familiar that doesn't fit their playstyle, but given how big a chunk that familiar is to the conjurer playstyle and they have zero control over what they get, it'd be nice if it were just laid out on the line. I can understand when the 'fam skills' command would hide info about quest familiars but you should be able to tell at a glance ICly once you are linked with the familiar what it's abilities are. You are after all, linked with this being life-or-death. You should at least not have to be Jane Goodall to figure out it's skill/trait list.

And OOC it's really nice to know whether you should bother sinking edge points into warded/warrior familiar or if this familiar is rarely going to see the light of day in your playstyle not only because of it's fragility but it's niche usage.
