#30521, "More shapeshifter questions!"
|
Hello everyone, and thanks to those who answered to my questions earlier. Now I have returned with more noobish questions about shapeshifters and will be verey grateful for your answers!
There we go: 1. As I take it, resistances from items (fire resist, for example) will not work in form. Items, which would grant perma-spell (stone skin for -1 hour) will work, though. Right?
2. +hit/+dam from items are of course not working when shifted (that's good). But +str/+dex and etc from items, does it work? For example, my dex is dropping down from calltraps. Will +dex items help me?
3. Some forms are vuln to elemental attacks (for example, coppersnake is vult to cold). We cannot see vulns/strengths? Dear imms, perhaps you will show it to us when we are checking skills of the form?
Looks like it's all for now - but I will be back with more questions!

As a general rule, if your form says it's resistant to fire, it's vulnerable to cold, and vice versa.

Also of note is forms are affected by shifts in the veil, so right now shifters will seem very weak compared to what they normally are. Because the veil is normally extremely thick right now, dodgy forms are dodging less, damaging forms are damaging less, regen forms regen slower, all kinds of things, so if you have a hard time liking forms, just wait until the mud balances out a bit more to get a better feel of the power of shapeshifters and mages in general.

Eh?
Are you sure, where did you get this info - is it information from our dear imms? I never heard about it, could someone from the staff support (or deny) this comment please?
And thanks for your answer, Zulg. Perhaps you will add vulns to skill list of shifters? It would make our life a little bit easier.
Thanks to everyone involved!

Yes.

You do see resistances, I don't recall if I did vulns or not.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I thought they had vulnerabilities and resistances just by just watching them myself. Not that I need an answer or anything, but this just made me wonder if the forms are somehow attached to mob vulns based on the form type. (If you didn't add vulns, that is.)

I'd guess not; when you shift, you "take off the gear", which would probably result in the effect granted by the object vanishing. I haven't ever experimented with it, though.
>2. +hit/+dam from items are of course not working when shifted > that's good). But +str/+dex and etc from items, does it work? >For example, my dex is dropping down from calltraps. Will +dex >items help me?
Hit/dam from spell effects will count, gear bonuses do not. For str/dex/saves, both spell effects and gear bonuses count, so yes, +dex items will help (and this is why you should not just be stocked with hp, but spread out to some str/dex/saves).
>3. Some forms are vuln to elemental attacks (for example, >coppersnake is vult to cold). We cannot see vulns/strengths? >Dear imms, perhaps you will show it to us when we are checking >skills of the form?
I think most strengths are shown as a form skill, vulns not.
