I was just curious about the role Jullias plays for CF these days. Is he pretty much the head hauncho and entrusts CF and all it's operations to you Imps, all while just maintaining the funds for it and everything?

Do you guys tell him current events on CF like yeah theres a cool Emperor at the moment, or does he log on to see himself? Or does he only handle the logistical stuff?

If he pays everything and has no really big part anymore that's really respectable. I just didn't know what part he played and was kind of curious if you Imps didn't mind shining some light.

He's pretty much been gone for years, but still helps us out with the hardware/hosting/security stuff sometimes because he built most of our current setup for those things.

He's a cool guy, and I hope that someday he'll have more time/interest again, but I don't count on it.

I remember him from when I started playing this game years ago. I just kind of thought he was one of those imms, like others, that left for greener pastures.

Its kind of like how the skull screen states the game to be maintained by a number of people, some of those names seem to be pretty old (if I'm remembering correctly, not going to search for a log with it right now). I always thought it was just because the skull screen hadn't been updated in years... Perhaps that isn't true?

You have to sacrifice a virgin to be privy so such information. Luckily this is CF so there shouldnt be a shortage.

1) Girls and sexual attitudes are a lot looser now than when that stereotype was formed.

2) The mean age of the average CFer is probably late twenties, early thirties.

3) Most CFers are men; the average age of men losing their virginity is around 17, regardless of social habits.

4) The "Nerds are Sexy" movement hasn't hurt.

5) More girls play video games and are "nerdy" these days than there used to be, thus more girls are likely to relate to nerdy guys, thus more nerdy guys are getting laid.

6) Nerdy girls are just as desperate as nerdy guys.

7) The advent of the internet and especially social gaming (like MMOs) has made it easier for nerds to connect with each other, and thus "connect" with each other.

Uhm ... no. It's obvious you don't have a firm grounding in the logical application of statistics.

Let's take this statement apart. The *average* age (aka mean) of men losing their virginity is 17. True enough.

But for example I can take a group of men with a social habit of extreme social anxiety, who all happened to lose their virginity in their 20s, and then the average age of THAT GROUP is in the 20s.

Saying "regardless of social habits" is an entirely misleading reading of the statistic. An average of 17 in a large sample like "all men" is just as likely to indicate -- you have some people losing their virginity early (studs) and some who tend to lose it later (social outcasts). In fact, having entries at both end of the extreme in a large sample like this is FAR more likely than like, having everything cluster around the mean. That would be retarded.

Good job trying though.

Ignoring the fact that you only trashed one of my many points, the entire thread and post was in jest.

Good job trying, though.

Uhm...no. It's obvious that men are only men when they are over 18. 17 year old males are still considered teenage boys. Not men, especially in first world countries. So not true enough.

Also, you're assuming that this is a normal distribution, and it's impossible to tell that from the data given. And it's not "FAR more likely" to have entries at both ends in the extreme. If you're considering extremes to be in their late twenties, then that also means boys lost their virginity at age...9 - 10. That is highly unlikely. I'm guessing this graph is skewed left. Your assumptions are...well, that would be retarded.

I would also add that I've always been under the assumption that nerds ARE the quintessential average male, therefore the "average age of losing virginity for males" applies directly to them.

Honestly, in my high school, 17 was late.

You've got to be kidding me. That's like the stupidest thing I've heard here. It doesn't matter whether I type "men" or boys ... at what point you would want to call them "men" is some freaky sociological argument, not a statistical point. The point here is the statistic.

>So not true enough.

Nope, there has actually been data gathered on this, and in the U.S. the average is 16.6-17.5 years.

>you're assuming that this is a normal distribution

LOL ... no I'm not. I'm actually familiar with the data.

>If you're considering extremes to be in their late twenties, then that also means boys lost their virginity at age...9 - 10.

No it doesn't pal. It means (one possibility) that there are a lot of people who lost their virginity at 14, and a few people in their 20s.

You get an "E" for effort.
