My job allows me to log sometimes spectacularlly long sessions but I'm not finding a lot of mages. So what I have been trying to do is basiclly roll people and snatch up potions and the like to hand to Tahren. To clarify, by roll I mean blackjack or waylay and steal from them. I'm not taking peoples armor to do this (Unless it's in inventory and I use the steal command.)

So far as I can tell the only result of this has been the loss of 5 con and multiple sets of armor.

So I gotta ask, RP aside is there a cumulative affect for giving multiple low level magic items to Tahren? Not that I've been successful even doing that, but I'm getting the distinct impression the veil isn't affected by giving Tahren 1,000 (Or a million) charred leather bracers.

The short answer is, if it's not limited it's probably not worth your time from a purely mechanical perspective.
