Is there any chance you could change the color for black shroud from black to grayish? I ask because ZMUD a very popular mud client has a default background color of black and its the same exact color as the new black aura text which means you end up seeing things like.
Bill is here (white aure)Joe is here
it took me a while to figure out why all the text on my screen when I saw an empire raiding party was so wierdly formated.
I know you said in the past that we can just turn colors off but thats the only one thats a major issue for me and I like all the rest. I assume its also an issue for everyone else who doesn't know how to manually set colors and uses zmud.

It's not just ZMUD... almost every client I've ever used and telnet use black backgrounds. Even the java client CF has for use at the top of the page has a black background. Soo, yeah, I agree. This choice has never made much sense for me either.

I dunno about ZMUD, but some MUD clients, and terminal apps, let you assign your own color values to the default terminal colors. You could then tweak to "black" to be a very dark gray (or whatever).
With 9 (i think) colors to choose from in light/dark, there aren't many options other than just making (Black Aura) the default color, which would be fine, IMHO.
