#27973, "Have ya'll considered Conglaciation in a while?"
|
Either there are a LOT of invokers continually refreshing this spell, or it's timer is rediculously long bordering on permanent. I just walked down the eastern road and about a quarter of it is conglaciated. I can't see room changes lasting that long to be a beneficial thing.

Do assassins and thieves have it too easy?
That's the only reason why I can see the permafrost.

In one of (Nep's?) posts on the other forum, I had gotten the impression that the staff had talked about it and were fine with it.
Thanks for clearing things up for me.

We examined the duration, but then there was a lingering bug where, sometimes, the room wouldn't ever heat back up after the snowstorm was gone.

That's great. Thank you.
How long is the final duration now, under normal circumstances?

Until it melts. It may seem Nepenthesque, but it has nothing to do with time.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

It doesn't even prevent hiding. It just makes you step out and you can just rehide or wait till you sneak into the room and then hide. My complaint is that it lasts SOOOOOO long. I've actually gone to sleep, woke up the next day, and seen conglaciated places STILL conglaciated. I guess when the road finally gets completely filled and lowbies start dying just because they can't get out of the snow they will reboot and that bored invoker can get started on covering the road again.
The druid plant growth spell doesn't last that long at all and the patrolmen on the eastern road will chop it up when they come across it. Centurions will destroy it instantly. But these things don't stop conglaciation. I fail to see the usefulness of it lasting so long and why a reduction in the length of time it lasts would take away from its limited usefulness.
