#26829, "Bug, oversight, or feature request?"

There are certain circumstances in which it is strategically beneficial to a sneaking race to NOT sneak. Arials now can decide to fly or not. Has there been any consideration to letting elves and drow turn off auto-sneak?

As a workaround you could hold those coconuts. If they still exist.

Do they actually stop you from sneaking? Or do they just make noise when you walk. There's a significant difference when you're in duo. When you're in duo and you're sneaking, if you get hit by cold environment or fire you will step out of duo. If you're not sneaking, you won't step out.

I don't see why sneaking should guy should pop out of duo if not sneaking guy wouldn't. IMO, it's a bug.

Yeah, any damage you take: poison, bleeding, thirst, hot/cold environment knocks a sneaking character out of duo, but not a non-sneaking. This is even true for humans who wear items that give them sneak. I just wasn't sure if that was by design for some weird "too hard to fix" reason or game balance or what. I was hoping to have an immortal chime in.

I agree that it sounds like a bug, but alternately, hold faerie fire wand, zap self
