#25864, "Evade learning rate"
|
Has anyone ever mastered evade? Seems a little insane that Humbert was around for 700 hours+ and apparently constantly brawling and his evade only hit 85%. That got me curious and I checked out a bunch of high int people who had alot of hours and none of them got close to mastering it either? Maybe the learning rate needs to be tweaked? I mean seems silly that a 700 hour character can't master a skill that has a chance to fire in every combat situation. Thoughts? That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.

I've mastered it on thieves pretty easily, even felar and svirf thieves in their 20's. Getting it at a low level helps when everything dirts and kicks and doesn't do much damage.
I've also mastered it on an elf paladin, svirf/drow rangers, and a felar assassin. All after spending a really long time fighting very hooded mobs that bashed, kicked, and tripped a lot. It wasn't easy, and wasn't really worth the effort considering I lost interest and deleted most of them without it ever paying off. I never could get it above the low 90s on my warriors, however. Usually I give up after taking the evasive edge, saying that's good enough.
On a few of the chars, my strategy was to get nearly every other ability up to 99+% so level gains and immxp were more likely to affect evade. That strategy may not be for everybody though

I rarely learn evade. Victoria got one improvement, I think, and she fought a fair bit and evaded a fair bit. Drow int still wasn't enough.
