#24820, "Sleek Wands"

Yeah, I know, this is old hat. Dead horse. Whatever you want to call it. But I had an idea. If its been suggested before, shoot me down. If not, read on?

I was thinking, as it seems a lot of people are still struggling with wands, would it be possible to have some sort of mini-quest that would allow players some knowledge of their wand locations?

Setup:

Go to arch-mage at HTOS, or make it some other high level mage unique to race or whatever, if you want to take it that far, and tell him you need help finding your amber/sienna/black wand. He tells you, get me all these special shiny things, that take a lot of work to get, but are doable. Specific mage items, or regents for a potion. You get him all the items, and he then tells you something akin to what is in an IMM helpfile: I feel a magical presence deep within the ground, in a place of evil. So you decide to check drow city, or Kiadana or something.

You don't get specific information, but you get a good idea of where to look. And make whatever is desired that much harder to get. So you'd need a ton for work for the black wand, and progressively easier for the other two.

I have no clue if this would take a ton to code, or if it is even a feasible idea. But I do know from personal experience the frustration of not knowing your wands, despite a fair bit of looking. And my game knowledge isn't pathetic either.

Thanks?

Ignorance is bliss, and I know too many happy people.

For every 100 hours, a mage character gets a new set of sleeks spawned, in addition to the first three that they had at creation.
