#24604, "When pets are all bark and no bite..."

So I'm playing a druid. Usually, when I start a battle, my pets scream and attack with me. Othertimes, they don't. Here's what happened the other day:

I have a COW and a treant. Enemy warrior walks into room, hits briars (plantgrowth on road). He's lagged.

I initiate with a thornheart. It misses, enemy gets some free hits.

Next round, enemy feints me. We exchange blows. Treant screams at enemy. COW screams at enemy. The pets don't actually attack though.

Next round, enemy severs my artery. I order the treant to rescue me, which he does. It says, "The Treant starts aiming at ." Neither pet attacks enemy.

Next round, enemy hits treant. I hit enemy. COW screams twice at enemy, but doesn't attack. Treant doesn't attack.

Next round, enemy hits treant. I hit enemy. COW screams twice at enemy, but still doesn't attack. Treant still doesn't attack.

Next round, enemy flees.

So, throughout the entire fight, neither pet attacked the enemy. Sure, they screamed a bunch, but that was it. Why?

you don't see it occurring - you only see the hits. If someone parries or dodges every hit from every mob thats attacking him, its going to look like nothing tried to attack him on your screen.

However, that doesn't explain why your COW didn't attack, though it might explain your treant's lack of activity. -shrug-

You just didn't realize it because he defended against all of their melee hits. Players generally defend very well against mobs.

Then why would they continually scream and attack in the same fight, as he is decsribing. What he is saying doesn't add up. And if its true, it's a bug. Not a simple matter of the attacks being defended against.

It's not SUPPOSED to do it, but it tended to happen a lot when the critters couldn't see you. Like when it was dark and you didn't have anything glowing, which almost never happens these days. Bug board it and see what Zhulg has to say about it.

It was INCREDIBLY annoying for me too.

Servitors do this thing where they re-initiate several times during the fight. I'm not sure if this is the same issue. With servitors, it's a little easier to notice if they're fighting or not because they seem to hit on more of a regular basis.
