#24522, "A fresh look at an old skill: Serpent Strike"
|
So I've noticed something that's both frustrating and unrealistic. When you serpent strike (A quick attack using the cutting edge of the weapon you are wielding in your main hand) it doesn't seem like the damage type carries over, and is instead converted into a standard physical strike.
It would be greatly appreciated if we could possibly change this so that the weapon's damage type is carried over in the serpent strike, as this makes sense from a logical standpoint. It would also spruce up a ranger staple that becomes otherwise bleh in the upper ranks, doing maim and devastate damage with a great weapon and a 50 damroll.
Thank you!

Normal hit, normal ranger spear, around 50 damroll. No vuln exploited. This was a week ago. So if you are truly seeing only maims, you must be broken.
<1033hp 594m 1149mv 26550tnl civilized indoor 10 AM> You dart in quickly past the dwarven guard's defenses with the speed of a snake! Your serpent strike *** DEVASTATES *** the dwarven guard! The dwarven guard is covered with bleeding wounds.

While I agree on the damage type, I was able to do as high as ***DEVOSTATE*** with my serpent strike and averaged MANGLE with closer to 45 damage roll and a ranger spear so I am unsure why you would be doing such small damage. Oddly, while my thrust affected some mobs, they were immune to serpent strike. That's the only problem I really had with it.
