#23939, "A possible change to Vindicator."

Right now Vindicators get detect hidden, but no detect camo. Is there a change this could get changed? I'd like for Vindys to only be able to see wanted hiddens and wanted camo'd people. Any reason this isn't a reasonable request?

It's more power I'm not convinced they need to be balanced/fair/interesting.

I've played one or more Vindicators; I've also played more than my share of characters who are wanted a lot (and watched a lot of both that other people played), so in theory I think I have a decent read on this.

To be fair, they'd also lose the ability to see non-wanted hidden people.

So I can see you hiding in the woods because your wanted, but not the ten guys in your cabal standing RIGHT NEXT TO YOU because they aren't wanted.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Sounds very much like mark of the prey to me.

Although personally I kind of like things as they are, where being wanted is concerned.

That is what I was thinking. Their focus would be more toward the criminal.

Probably because Outlander powers and ranger skills are specific to the wilderness only, and they would be seriously screwed if yet another air/offense vindicator could come in and harass them until they logged off.

Criminals should fear Vindicators. If you read over the original post you will see that I said (WANTED) people. Not all Outlanders are wanted, nor all they always wanted.

A ranger raids the spire and gets his ass wanted. Cool, for he took risks, got caught, and created some fun for your vindicator and the other guys in the spire.

I have not seen many fights where bloody shackles did not mean an "I win" stick for the prepped shapeshifter who flew in. Or now, the shaman who would summon people out of hiding onto the road. That would be even worse than having an immortal set Prosimy on fire and raiding for you. Woot!

So...

Under your proposal, Vindicators would encourage people to take fewer risks than they already do, which means even less action in the Tribunal/Outlander war.

Is that what you really want?

I think more things like that should happen more often! It would be neat to see an epic battle between Ysal and Twist, wouldn't it? Each with their followers just doing all they can to help them. Once I heard what was happening, I wanted to try and find a RP reason to go and atleast watch! The Imp dancing through Galadon lighting everything on fire while the tribs try and stop him. Maybe Marcatis comes down to bring rain and put the fires out or something. People wanted to have the religions mean something more, wouldn't this help? Seeing your Lord fighting and rallying to them? Just a thought.

-Sorry, this was completely off the original topic. I do not think the Vindies need to be any more powerful.

It just looked to me like "this seems unfair so I'll fix it". If I'm wrong that's great.

It wouldn't be "let's mess with them" it would be ROTD, here's what and why, and ban/slay/etc. Any time a cabal gets some number OMG! Perma!

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I believe more in the pendulum shift than seeing cheating permas and cheaters everywhere.
