Would it be better for gameplay if the neuro edges only boosted the damage on a weak lag from neuro? So on the violet neuros, it is smallcap damage, but if it is a neuro with minimal lag, it can hit for upper-tier damage.

It just doesn't make sense to have edges give such a powerful boost to an already powerful spell. I thought that logic only applied to a-p edges.

Having just looked through the code for neuro and the code for the Psyche Crush & Paralytic Opportunist edges...I think they're just fine.

I'm not sure what you think the boost is, but overall I'm still far more worried about getting neuro'd than any of these side effects.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

At the outset of edges, I was excited. You, are almighty CF overlords, said that they would make strange combos more attractive and try to encourage more exotic tactics by boosting less used skills.

What many of them ended up as, is an unnecessary boost to an already great choice in nearly all your battles. Making mental jolt all bewildery is cool, but it suddenly looks less attractive against what my original choice of spell was going to be because now my neuro nukes giants/duergars/etc and makes them melee meat.

This isn't what I wanted out of edges, and I can't speak for anyone else, but I feel it's tainted their purpose. Saving up for a +5 to neuro/fiend/rot/whatever shouldn't be an option. Things like more magic missiles against groups and purging evil giving you a regenerative calm should be.
