#22691, "More discussion on Dragons"
|
With the Elder Dragons spreading across Thera, I'd been thinking about dragons abit more, particularly after Daevryn's help w/ standard D&D/Dragonlance/Chromatic Dragon mythos.
It strikes me, that CF dragons are rather boring. Most are just relatively strong mobs in an area, and some are even relatively pathetic (Honestly, how often does the red dragon get killed?). Very few of them are particularly fearsome, most seem to be of the format "add dragon attacks and pick a breath weapon", and none really seem to have very much backstory to them.
Given the few dragon immortals we've already had (Hi, Nep!), and the "rewrite" that just happened, it seems like a perfect time that dragons could be given more depth.
I've some ideas of my own, but figured I'd see what the general opinion was before I continued rambling. Or if it becomes a "maybe in the future" idea, just email it so only one person has to suffer my insane creations.

The actions of supposedly six most powerful dragons of their breed does not negate my previous statement, which qualified towards the majority of the dragons in Thera and their lack of diversity.
Nor have I heard of any further backstory (as yet), regarding these, or any other dragons beyond some few dragons which had some significance to the area themselves. Elven Vaults for example, feels as there might have been some story.
I don't intend to be rude, but answering my post with a statement more or less summing up what we already knew (Ancient Dragons are new, badass, and cool because they were just redone) really didn't accomplish much for anyone.
***Edited to add: I've got a lot of respect for you most times, Valg, but sometimes your people skills get to me.
