#21145, "Maybe give Necromancers something that takes away dex?"

They have spells that take away strength, plenty of them, but none that kill dex? I just see a necromancer as someone who has the highest potential for maladicts in the game. That is his whole game. Also, against warriors, if you take there dex down some, then the zombies will actually hit them more. Just an idea. I just like the idea of necromancers being able to destroy the legs of opponents. OR, with spellss that they already have, add like a timer.

i.e. Crimson scourge is on them. For every tick, you have some sort of fatigue that sets in. -dex every hour. The longer you have the disease, the longer/high the -dex goes up. But, once the disease is gone, you still have the -dex maladict. I dont know, something like that. I just think a necromancer should be able to destroy legs, along with strength. Just an idea.

I just think necro's and shaman's need just a little more. I dont believe a dagger specialists, or assassin should be able to maladict someone more than a necro should. Just my two cents.

What do you think?

Dexy chars aren't all that strong.

As a necro, if you get your foe slept, there is a large likelyhood that you can drop a dexy char's str, even one geared exclusively for str, down to 3 (the minimum).

That dexy char, with a 3 str, isn't going to dodge anything, because they are carrying weight FAR FAR over and above the 3 str's max carry weight.

To give you an idea, a for instance, a hero felar with 17 str can carry probably between 300-400 lbs.

Drop his str to 3, and the 150 lbs he is carrying is going to be....what...just guessing...100lbs over max weight?

considering if that felar wears more than half of his max, his tanking suffers greatly, it is considered that the necro's massive -str maladictive ability is enough to compensate for lack of a -dex.

You are forgetting, even on a fire giant, geared only for str...can be reduced to 3 str with weaken + poison plus enough scourges.

(not to forget the fact that if he is geared that much for strength, you are not going to have trouble landing those scourges)

Add in a plague or two from a mechanical magic device, and you have some pain coming about.

As for your statement....
I dont believe a dagger specialists, or assassin should be able to maladict someone more than a necro should.

The answer is, they can't.

The dagger specialist has hurl, which is veyr minor. art, which is decent, ham, which is decent, and MAYBE a twist.

The assassin, has alot more, and I would say is the second best maladictor in the game (over shamans)

But the reality is, there is no mortal character (notice I was careful to say mortal...undead are another story) is so strong they can not be reduced to 3 str by a necro.

Sure, the shaman and ap can stack plagues, but without sleep(shaman) or spellcraft(ap)...the fight will be over long before they can stack enough plagues to reduce a well prepped char to 3 str.

Ghoulish numbing or power word decay.

How about we give them ghoulish numbing and power word decay.

Oh wait.

Or we could just let them nuke strength, which has a similar effect.

Warriors/assassins/rangers/thieves rely on dex and good melee skills but they have nothing that would put people to sleep.
Can we please add that ability to them?
