#20133, "Shamans"

Ever consider giving shamans heal that can only be used on themselves?

This class is fooked compared to everything else.

So I got no idea for a name yet but here is the jist of the idea.

When communed upon someone whose not the same alignment as the shaman it causes a temporary shift in their alignment. So if an evil called the curse on a neutral for say 24 ticks the game would treat the cursed neutral as an evil. If it was a good shaman it would pull them towards goodlyness. or just make it an evil only curse.

This seems more utilitish and could do many things, mess with protect vs align, mess with the gear your wearing, make some of your skills unuseable (like wrath, turn undead, sanctify self). Could also be hell on conjies.

I dunno its inspired by that big nature curse druids get I know it would prolly be a bitch to code but well it seems like it would fit into the scheme of shaman.

Yeha, I found mend wounds to be "not that useful" in PK situations. It was useful for "not dying" when I worded away bleeding, or fighting a fiend, or when I was just fighting mobs, but not so much for PK.

They regen better in battle, than they normally would. Or similar.

I think giving them heal just seems too generic. Giving them a self-healing with a twist would be far more interesting. Maybe an edge that gives them per-round shifter-style regen while imbued with Aristaeia, and increased per-hour regen when fighting with Fervor.

There's already an edge that boosts the output of "mend wounds" when you're in combat. It still wasn't enough to make "mend wounds" viable in PK situations where it wouldn't already be viable. I'm not one to look an edge horse in the mouth, but having that edge didn't fundamentally change the utility of that commune. (As it shouldn't, since that's not the point of edges.)

Imho, at hero, assuming I'm right and mend wounds did about 50-55 health unmodded- that edge was marginal at best and only boosted the gain to about 55-60 while in combat. I do not know what an unedged mend wounds normally heals however, 55-60 might be much better.
