#19241, "Idea for the Academy"

A new quest, simply designed to solve two problems. The low-level movement and the unsurety people have over edges (how to discuss one, how to know you've got one available, etc):

Mr.Mob speaks to those that enter, talking about how a guildmaster might know more than he is letting on or a certain trait in an adventurer can give them an advantage with enough insight. Asking the adventurer to find the Healer, they're sent there to ask a blessing of insight from the Gods. Depending on their alignment, they get an echo along the lines of 'The Gods of the Light willingly grant you a small boon' or 'Darkness fills your vision for a moment, as your request for power is met violently.' (health halved) And a second echo that informs them they've just been given some insight that will allow them to buy an edge.

Returning to Mr.Mob, a character learns that by using 'discuss' with him they can see an edge available - 'First steps'. By discussing this edge, a character feels an inspired spring in their step that will help them begin their long journey. The edge gives a nice bonus to movement regeneration while un-bloodied (and if that's too much for a newbie quest, make it scale with level. Lower levels it's far more effective, higher levels it becomes a very small bonus).

Mr.Mob can then allude to the presence of an Oracle who can reveal great truths - ones that could be far more crippling than helpful. And a discouraging comment about not wanting to over-indulge in such discussion, as revealing too many weaknesses in yourself without knowing how to overcome them will leave you vulnerable to even the most trivial of bandits.

What do you guys think?
