#18269, "Low level ranking."

I know this topic has been talked about before, but could an IMM look at this and see if it might be a touch too much?
An elven elder is covered with bleeding wounds.
<79%hp 50%m 94%mv 2311tnl (46.50%)> An elven elder parries your defilement. An elven elder's pierce hits you. An elven elder zaps you with golden rod of energy. An elven elder waves his arm in a wide arc, sending projectiles of pure mana aimed at you. An elven elder's magic missile maims you! That really did HURT! An elven elder's magic missile maims you! That really did HURT! You sure are BLEEDING! An elven elder's magic missile maims you! You have been KILLED!!
I understand you do not want leveling to be super easy and take no skill, but do you really want an area on the newbie ranking list to do this? There is nothing fun about this. I feel like it added nothing to my playing experience beyond the desire to log off.
Thanks for your time and the good game.

As a player that frequents that area, I can tell you that it does add to the playing experience and is not too much for a number of reasons. The main being that it is very easy to circumvent that problem you have there. All it involves is using the 'look' command. You're upset because a mob killed you with something you didn't expect. That's going to happen frequently when you play this game. When it does happen you have the choice of learning from it or complaining that it's unfair and not fun. I'm not going to say this applies to all areas but for this particular area it does. The obvious answer would be not to fight those elven elders alone at your current level. Or just that specific elven elder.

I will assume that means working as planned. Thanks for the reply, and thanks again for the game.
Edited because spelling is hard.
