I'm curious what motivated this change, oh so many years ago. Is there any real difference in how it affects those struck by it? And does the electrical discharge somehow seem more fitting in a society that has not harnessed electricity?

Just one of those random things I wonder about from time to time when I should be grading more exams.

It's just another damage verb. There's still shocking bite stuff out there.

Au contraire! Electricity is one of the Five Magics. You of all people should know that!

with beer. I could've sworn I saw a staff of conjurer beer elemental.

It's been a long time since Master's And far too much beer.

I guess I was thinking the lightning was the 'fantasy' way they would've dealt with the concept of electricity. I think this just means I need to have another cup of coffee and grade some exams instead.

Thanks for all the fun.

I think someone's just discerned the entryway for Dwarven Mages!

Dwarven Conjurer - He's covered.

Dwarven Invoker - Ale Waste: (Not to be confused with Aiel Wastes) When cast, a wave of Ale rushes into target, Handled like water but with the added bonus of the victim suffering from stickiness. Me thinks - to hit role and dex.

Dwarven Transmuter - Intoxicity: Raises the target's blood alcohol level ... might not be good against Bards unless you can use it up to and after poisoning.

Dwarven Necromancer - Unable because of Alignment

Dwarven Shapeshifter - 1st tier, only form available. Full Keg. Unfortunately once completed there is no reversal and character suffers from permanent death seeing as how a keg of alcohol would be inanimate. Strangely this guild is still quite popular!

So are they pretty much equivalent, ala wrath/divine, defilement/unholy, flaming/searing, freezing/frigid, etc.
