#16552, "Savage blow vs. Bearcharge"
|
I keep thinking about rolling a ranger to play around with the new specs and I'm curious about the savages. Is there any distinct advantage to using bearcharge once you gain savage blow? I'm thinking the damage is likely greater with the savage and the lag induced on the victim is about the same (probably greater for the smaller races).
So why have both on the Savages?
Just curious if anyone knew about the differences.

Having been hit with many savage blows (Never played a savage to that level) the lag has been similar to trip, whie bearcharge, especially with an enlarged gaint, can lag like bash. Savage blow has a greater damage potential though.
For lagging purposes I would use savage blow with all non-giant races as I've never had good results with bearcharge in terms on consistent lag with a non-heavey non-giant race.
Just my two cents

Off the top of my head...
Bearcharge is heavily size dependant, which can work both for and against you.
Bearcharge also can lag the victim longer than the ranger. I want to say (without checking) that savage blow can't.
Savage blow does different things in different terrains, which can work both for and against you, depending on what you want it to do. Bearcharge, conversely, is pretty much universal in wilderness.
