#16015, "Wands: Hopefully something new in this idea"


          

I want to start off by saying that I have a fair knowledge of wands, but during low/mid ranks I do tend to depend on a more limited number of places. Most of these have been empty for several days straight (and since I'm going through some snow storms I've been on a great deal) without any signs of poppage.


The idea I'm curious about feedback on is for certain wands (NOT - sienna, sleek, etc) that you can only carry one at a time? I don't think this is such a huge negative and would help promote said wands and make it more likely for them to pop.

I'm taking this off of a specific wand at the moment because this was an empy source and then come across a person who's (dare I say) hording four of them.

I figure it could be coded one of two ways...

You see said wand, get wand
A strange twisted piece of wood shimmers as you reach for it, turning insubstantial.

Or you go to l in bookshelf:
A strange bookshelf is empty.


The latter would prevent people from saying hey, go get this wand because its in. (ps. The above illustrations are assuming you have said wand in your inventory)

I don't see the current system as broken. We're never "cleaned out" of wands, in any event.

Also, your system could be partially circumvented by people just relocating the wands. Grab one, put it somewhere no one would look for it, repeat. Now you have a stash, at least until we reboot. Or get your allies to carry an extra for you, etc.
