How about lowering the lag on closing doors to just one round? That would make it a much more feasible tactic in combat, as it's now the lag is so long that even the slowest opponent finds time to open the door and flee.
I still try it now and then because it's smoove and often generates an extra parting blow or two, but still it's almost always an inferior option to just lagging away.
I suppose the reason for the two rounds of lag is to make it harder for lowbies to spamclose a door. But the proposed change would make a very small difference in that scenario. (Since there are quite few 1-round lagging moves.)
