#15293, "New Command: "Deposit to""

Allows you to deposite to another persons acound.

I know this sounds kinda funny, but I was thinking it would be a neat idea for people to be able to help each other out with out actually being their.

A couple minor Roleplaying ideas came to mind and I thought it might be intresting.

I can see some small instances of abuse, but I think, like gear swapping, it can be traced.

Not to mention it would be nice if you buddy in Galadon could wire you some cash in Udgaard.

Your "minor roleplaying ideas" translates into people depositing 50 gold from their hero to their low level thief who needs to get into the Galadon guild.

That's just the tip of the iceberg.

No way, no how.

You mean like how they can currently drop hero-level gear (including gold) for their low-ranked characters to pick up? Or how heros can walk up to lowbies and hand them gear (or gold)?

The main difference is that "depositto" would remove deniability on the part of the "donator". If I drop a bunch of gear that is subsequently picked up by a lowbie, and I get called into the ROTD about it, I can maintain that I never intended for that lowbie to pick up the gear- I just dropped it because I didn't need it anymore.

If, however, I deposit 50 gold into that lowbie's account, by name, it's sort of hard to deny that I was trying to set him up.

I don't see a great need for this, though. It's pretty easy to just give the low-ranking guy the gold in person.

But that's not really the point.

I had thought about this independently, and rather liked the idea. It'd open up possibilities in the future of greater merchandising and such (I remember Sraithe specifically, and Breganu, always buying and selling things). Rather than lugging the gold all the way across the country, could go the bank, withdraw, then depositto.

I'd also thought briefly of establishing cabal bank accounts (with a cap of course). That idea's a bit more iffy, though.

One could of course take this set of ideas and broaden them, making it possible for a lot more interaction in the economic system. Imagine a player who RPs a businessman, for instance.
