#15144, "Haste"

I first have one question. Have all, and I mean all, haste potions and pills been removed for warrior types "even the questy ones"? If so, is it really needed? I like what you are trying to do for the pk aspect of the game; however, I hate what you are doing to the exploring aspect of it. I use haste and damage reductions mainly for fighting high-end mobiles; more so than I do in pk fights. I know the imm staff has put a lot of thought into this, but I feel like it does hamper a small subset of a declining player base. I wonder is there anyway the imm staff would just consider not making haste a limited prep? If this was done, it would still reward exploration for finding such a pill or potion and not make it so only a few have it. I personally think this change would be easier to deal with than having to remove this, tweak that, look again and have to repeat the process over and over again until game balance is deemed correct. If this idea is considered, which I would love it if so, move all the known haste sources to new areas and mobiles. This way the few of us that use haste on warrior types for exploring will not be punished as much, and those that use haste for combat reasons will all have an equal chance to have access to the resource. Personally, but I am sure others will disagree with me, I think that limiting warrior type preps was one of the worse things done for this game.

A lot of those high end mobs have haste themselves, its soooo necessary to either be able to slow them (those that aren't bloodlusted) or at least be moving faster yourself.

One idea I had a while ago, was to make maledictions have a more serious effect on mobs. Not to the point boneshattering would make your dual wielding mace spec the uber-tank but at least boneshattering would let you parry them more easily (-str) and strike more often (-dex). Then a group of battleragers sans-bard could just be impaling/whirling/boneshattering/daggering up hefty mobs so that they go down harder while still spitting those nasty spells/skills that make them so unpleasant. It's a cool alternative to straight out bringing a mage/item to slow them, while a mage would still be superior (cancelling haste, and then layering on slow)

Yhorian.
