#13781, "Creep, a suggestion TXT"
|
Right now, not accounting for terrain changes, for several ranger combos creep is just like sneak, but requires a command per move. I.E if you set up macros for CTRL+NUMPAD to be creep movement, you can run just as fast camoed as if you werent, without ever stepping out.
This advantages people with knowledge of their client over those without. I'd advocate changing this for defaulting to a creep move if camoed.
For the record, I have an macros like that set up, so this isn't a whine. "New payment options w/ Iron Realms"

Following with ctrl held down:
numpad8 fam north numpad4 fam west numpad6 fam east numpad2 fam south numpad1 fam murder @target numpad5 fam where @target numpad- fam up numpad+ fam down
Ones with target need an alias that expands variables.
However, there is a problem with your suggestion. I was under impression that rangers with low wilderness time don't get fast creep, so in some circumstances this kind of auto-creeping would be disadvantageous.

I have a ####ty client and probably couldn't set up the macros even if I had the world's best client. My rudimentary knowledge of aliases has allowed me to create the awesome "ce = creep east," "cw = creep west," etc. ability for myself. It's not terrible, but it's not superfly either.
I'd like to be able to "creep on" and then use the regular direction commands and "creep off" when I don't wanna.

That's the direction I'd go if a change was made.
"creep" "You start creeping."|"You stop creeping."
Especially if you're a jaguar.

This is all assuming human sized/perfected creep/camo.
I know it might be some coding annoyance, but at the same time, having to maunally do it is a bite for less client saavy players.
I like the idea of a creep toggle. "New payment options w/ Iron Realms"

I think Larcat's hit pay dirt with this one. You should default to try to creep when you walk while camo'd. If you don't have fast-creep, just hit vis before you walk, or have a toggle.
