#13091, "Arial Shifters and Water focus"
|
Ok. Now I haven't actually rolled up an Arial shifter and chose Water as a focus for my forms but I have played an Arial shifter before. So I know that Arials as a race have Hydrophobia. This is also stated in the helpfile for the race. Now my question is if this is the case why aren't Arials restricted from choosing Water as a focus like Felar are?
That is if they're not already restricted. If they are then might as well delete the post.

They're not.
Felar shapeshifters are a special case in general. Racially, they're not very smart, not very magically inclined, and driven more by their instincts than, say, a human or arial is.

If that's the case, then an Arial shifter with a Water focus is still going to have hydrophobia kick in every time they go underwater unshifted? And if so then will it stick around after they change into their water form? I ask because from experience I know that hydrophobia is horrendous for regenerating mana and there might come a point where said shifter has to revert underwater to regain their mental strength. Basically, what's the deal when it comes to the Hydrophobia with the Water Form? Or is this something that I would have to learn from actually rolling up an Arial shifter with either a major or minor Water focus?

-From experience, yes but if you revert underwater you will not have the hydrophobia kick in(though I am not sure if thats by design or a bug).
And if so then will it stick around after they change into their water form?
-And again, yes. From my knowledge, the only way you can avoid the penalty is to shift before plummeting underwater.
