#12784, "I don't know about you guys..."

...but I swear that I'm like the worst PKer. I mean, it's hard for me to get through a login session -without- getting punked at least 3 times in two hours by some dude in my range. It may have something to do with playing such an easy target character. But eh, it happens. Just rather annoying when after 5 minutes of logging in and having a nice conversation in the Inn and deciding to go to the bank to get some coin for food that some dude in my range shows up out of nowhere and just wipes my character out before the game could even register my typing of 'e'. Guess that's what I get for playing an Air/Utility shifter, eh?
Any tips from the more experienced players other than what's in the PK helpfile on how to hold my own next time around since shifters are pretty much defenseless out of form and being out of form is the only real way they can hold conversations with others. And I say next time around because even though I just logged out that character because it was annoying and just killed my mood to play with him the rest of the night, I'll get over it by tomorrow. Since you know, don't want to rage delete my first level 51. Heh.

-Remember to have pass door, control translucense, stoneskin and fly up at all times. This will make you harder to lag.
-cast word immediately when someone surprises you. Remember that revert has some lag after it if you are maledicted.
-check where for enemies before you revert. Stay in form or word out when you see an enemy. If it's a tough foe, simply word out quickly.
-Know your enemies and their locations. As an air shifter, you can check the nearby areas for foes quickly when planning to revert in an area.
-gear for hp. This will allow you to win or survive the actual fights. Make sure that every worn piece gives you a hp bonus. If you get less than 300 hp from your gear, you are poorly dressed. As human shifter, you should have about 900-1000 hp with gear worn.
-having a quick to type macro for revert;c word helps a lot for survival. My macro for that is 'qwe'.

Oh yeah, that's what I usually do. Walk? Pfft. Man I just shift and usually fly where I want to go. The only problem with that is if you get stuck in an area where you are unable to find a way up and thusly cannot fly out in an emergency. Such as the Inn of the Eternal Star. Because it is a cabal. A few other places too. Elemental Temple, Lost in the Wastelands, Ysigrath... My air forms are like the only reason I haven't con died yet. Same for my final utility form. The only problem is when I revert and totally defenseless. A warrior or a final offense form can usually just waltz in and either outright kill me or leave me close to dead before I can do anything. In the latter case, I have been lucky enough to flee and then either teleport or word out. But still. It all comes down to basically being almost always in form or being an extremely easy target.
And the mv is nothing. It takes me 40 mv to fly up and then 6 mv to move from room to room. And whenever I shift into air form, my mv points go up by like 100 max. So I sleep for two hours and I now have way more mv than out of form.
